Someone gave me 80 million. I reported it to Rockstar (to be on the safe side) and went on a spending spree after that. I bought a tank, chopper, bus, limo, dump truck, exemplar, monroe, and modded them to the 9's. I also picked up a few random street cars and modded as much as I could to see what kind of sell value they'd get. I am also contemplating trying to buy every type of car, modding it out, and then testing stock vs custom to see if mods are equal or not.

If it happens to me then I'm gonna dump it all in my 2nd characters pocket. I don't use them now the cargobob spawns freely so I'd probably forget all about it.
If I was inclined to use it then, like Cloud says, I'd just rotate my garage on a whim.

DO NOT SHARE the money. Apparently it is the fast train to cheaters pool if you do.

Without modding, there is no way to "share" the money. One reason why sharing will get you booted. If it was shared to you, it is not your fault. R* keeps records of where money comes from. You can too from your Maze bank website deposit logs. If you got large amounts of money, I would not worry about it. Just pull vehicle from the street, mod the hell out of them and give them others to let them sell, lol.

Yet to come across this in any FM, perhaps the modders do not frequent Free Aim or perhaps I am a little gun ho and no one has donated due to me killing them lol either way I do not want their dirty money so all's good.
Anyone else who gets gifted but does not want just close your ps3 down instantly before the cloud can save and when you reboot you won't have the donation.

I'll take mine. Grinding for cash in this game is such a chore. I even bought a $10 cash card, but it didn't last very long. So if someone wants me to mod a car for you to sell, send me a PM and we'll take some time. Just find your own car, and I'll meet you at LSC, mod it to the max, and you can sell it, keep it, whatever. Here's what I did last night:

Was just about to come off online last night, was exiting using the character wheel and noticed my money at top of screen. It read $1,000,233,112 or something like that. Bascially, someone had given me a billion and didn't realise until I came off. What to do?

This has happened to me about three times and I have over a billion dollars now. It kind of ruined the game for me but then again, I can get any car I want and mod the heck out of it. lol I bought a Mini Cooper and turned that little thing into a monster. Hahaha

I just gotta say, I spend my entire real life going from week to week and check to check. I stress about money constantly. I find it kinda nice not having to worry about it in game. I took my lottery winnings and threw em in the bank with a quickness and now I can play my game as I see fit. I accept my lottery win with open arms.

what amazes me is how you guys manage to spent so much so quickly... ive had quite a bit of money from quite early on in the online world ( but i dont like to go on about it much and keep a low profile, sorta made me feel dirty before it started happening to eeeeeveryone...). I was still in my first week of GTA:O when i got bit by the billionaire bug, from one of the original hacks waaaaaay before they were even posted on se7ensins or the DNS method became widely available and the xbox side started seeing the cash flowing.... iirc ( and with a bit of research after the fact because hacks/mods interest me from a tech perspective... theres about 7 different ways to acheive this now...) it was a well known ps3 hacking/mod group ( who's products you can buy on the open market) testing out a tunable transfer from a jail-broken ps3 ... reported to rockstar and didnt touch any of the money for well over a week, until they finished their investigation and closed my support ticket with no action taken... my total money spent.... $14.5 million ( this is across two characters).... of which about 6million was basically given to other people in a sort of robin hood fashion, mainly in the week after rockstar closed my support ticket, less so recently as i got hounded a little by money-whores... my legit earnings stand around 8-9million.. my legit spend is about ... 8-9 million... as i said to rockstar in my support ticket the money made it really hard to try and stay within my legit earnings and i have/still do try to keep my spend within what i earn... some of you guys have spent triple that in the last week (i know, its xmas lol) I just wonder wtf did you guys buy lol... ive gone more than 2 months and not spent as much as you guys did in two days.... am i too frugal?? or do i just not own enough chrome adders

Over priced bounties, constant Merryweather calls, pimping a car to the max and leaving it for others, I know players who purchase a new apartment per session !!
Personally I have not received anything (bar around 5 million I got from LSC glitch ) my earnings currently sit at around 2.5 million but I have nothing to spend that on apart from a tank for character 2 once levelled up.
One of the DDZN members has constantly tweeted R* telling them about this issue and the fact that he has to hard reset around 5 times a day to avoid this unwanted cash, their response ............ nothing !!

yea they dont seem to be taking much action, unless you share your gift with friends,,, then you might get marked for cheaters pool...
ive only ever used merryweather once, to hep someone get a merryweather mesa... i think im too friendly lol, i rarely shoot first, dont tend to blow up others pv's, dont like to die... have pretty much the cars i want on character 1, bar maybe one adjustment, my second character is for cars i want rather than cars i need for racing, so most are stolen and didnt cost me anything but mods... with that money isn't and hasnt been a big focus for me..
my main focus when i play is RP and levels, need to get my second character leveled up enough for heavy sniper and RPG, then ill be waiting for heists and character 3 slot unlocking while making new challenges for myself like can you backflip a faggio??

I received my lottery and proceeded to spend 30 mil within the hour. It does not infringe on my gameplay at all. I now no longer need to worry about it. I just play and do what I want for fun.

Ive got no idea how you spent that much in only an hour lol, I guess my lack of desire for boats helis and tanks might be a factor. Plus I virtually never have fjll ammo for my weapons, only visot ammunation if a gun runs put bit 1000 rounds each has jad me sorted for about a month lol...
One of my fav parts of gettin my gift was I had been racing for about 2 hours with the same group of people, then did a couple of survivals together... One guy was proud of himself For finally maxxing out his sniper rifle ammo (with legit money), then we get put into FM and BOOM the money dumps began,,, kinda took the shine off his fully ammo'd sniper lol

My first character was legit all the way to max...the only thing I HAD to buy him was the tank. As far as what he NEEDED he had...but then I went through and bought all the other pegusus vehicles I would have never owned otherwise because I thought they were a waste of money...but now that money was not an issue...bam why not.
My second character was still missing a few mods on the cars and was only carrying a pistol. So I topped her off on weapons and mods for her level and then bought all the pegusus vehicles.
It was mostly spent on useless pegussus vehicles and a tank.

Yea im still not really bothered about the Pegasus vehicles, probably the majority of our difference in spend.. I got a mallard for my first character but after the first week or two messing around doin barrel rolls under bridges ive all but forgotten I own it.. ive not bought any boats or tanks as I dont really want to use them, so prefer not to drop the big dollars on somethin I didnt want or need... Guess if you buy them all its gonna put a hefty dint in any bank balance lol

Well they are useless in free mode because hey spawn everywhere anyway...however, they allow you to spawn them in missions where most of the air vehicles and stuff do not spawn. I am thinking that it will come into play during heists where you will be in a private session and have maybe options available during planning based on what the session occupants own.

Saw this notice from R* on the latest newswire post. Looks like you will not have too worry much, they say will adjust bank accounts on next patch. socialclub.rockstargames.com/news/article/52013/the-first-rockstar-verified-gta-online-jobsR* Q about 8 hours agoIn regards to reports of hacking and cheating in Grand Theft Auto Online, we are working on a fix that will remove any GTA$ gained through these blatant exploits, as well as prevent this from happening in the future. We'll also be taking appropriate measures very soon to punish anyone that we've discovered manipulating GTA Online in this manner (as we've stated previously, players who have received large sums of GTA$ but not engaged in any game manipulating through exploits can rest assured knowing they have nothing to fear). If you have been gifted a large sum of money or collected a large bounty and would like to have the money removed from your account immediately, you can submit a request to Rockstar Support to have your balance properly adjusted. Otherwise, the money you've been gifted will be removed once our upcoming fix is in place.Furthermore, if you encounter someone that is taking advantage of exploits in your GTA Online session, you can alert us directly by using the in-game reporting functionality. In the Pause menu, under the Online tab, select Players and scroll to the offending player. From there, select Report and choose Exploits from the violation options. We appreciate the community's support and understanding as we work to address these issues and apologize for all inconvenience caused. Thanks,Rockstar Games

Will be interesting to see how that plays out. I don't really care one way or the other about the money but they have a notorious record of shall we say "over-fixing" things. If they nuke my cash and bank to zero I can work with that...rob one store and back in business. If they remove the vehicles that I purchased that day I am cool with that too as any individual looking at my logs could figure out what happened there...but they tend to use automated systems and those systems tend to do unintended things. I would be pretty upset if they removed my cars because I added upgrades that day or if I lost my apartment or something. Also if they somehow put me negative by any amount more than 10 or 15 grand it would be very hard to return to playability...I would be hard pressed to keep playing at that point...especially since I did absolutely zero wrong myself.

Thats exactly my concern luap, they have been known to be heavy handed in the past... Kinda gets me tHough that they are now puttin in place a method to request cash is removed..
Two months ago when people did request removal of the funds (myself included) they actually came back in some cases to say that it wasnt possible. In others like mine they said pretty much whats in t0llys post above, that provided I wasnt found to personally be using exploits glitches or hacks (which ive not as the lsc glitch always seemed like a borin waste of time when pre 1.06 I was banking 500k a night in race winnings) then I had nothin to worry about, but they may remove the cash... Two months on and they still havent removed it and my support ticket is closed...
What I wonder is if they still have the transaction records for mine as it was back on 7th Oct (iirc thats the date my support ticket was raised) and theres been a helluva lotnof cash sharing since then... Ergo, automation seems to be the only way to implement any changes to bank balances, which brings me back to why I agree w luaps point...

Ergo, automation seems to be the only way to implement any changes to bank balances, which brings me back to why I agree w luaps point... Almost certainly... There's "not possible" and "not possible without a God-awful amount of man hours for development and testing". It's probably the latter, R* avoided it like the plague and now they can't because it's out of control, so down the rabbit hole we go. Not an uncommon situation for large, data-driven platforms already in production, games or otherwise. You don't just root around massive databases willy-nilly and expect to not have any repercussions without a significant QA effort. The fix is probably just a set of queries to identify who did a big no-no, for how much, and update the values in the database accordingly. It's probably not that big of a deal from a raw technical perspective. It's the everything else that gets costly. Anyway, yes, it's probably all sitting in a tidy little database somewhere. Hundreds of millions of records detailing transaction history may sound like a lot to keep around, but it's actually quite trivial. I'll be surprised if they don't have every transaction since the game was released. It hasn't even been a year. The data describing exactly how and when people do what things in the game is too valuable for trend research to just flush it over data storage concerns. That's part of figuring out how to tweak the next thing to be slightly more addictive than the last thing. Note all of the above is conjecture based. I don't have any insider info or anything like that. Could be a different scenario entirely.
