I recently acquired a fancy new camcorder and want to record an old coal mine close to my mother's house in Shamokin. As far as I know the place is completely abandoned. I've been inside more than once so I know what to expect, it actually is really cool. But dangerous, of course. I still need to find a battle buddy, I ain't doing this alone! If I do I'll post the video here.

The company I work for has a huge hand in coal-mining. Big industry here in Virginia. I've never been in a coal mine, but I have heard stories. Whatever you do, try to stay away from the walls and loading bearing colums. Be surprised how a small atmospheric change can affect the area around you. Might have been fine a month or even a week ago. But no one can predict when something will collapse or cave.
But it would be cool to see. lol

I'm all for exploration. Typically urban exploration.
Coal mine is not playing around on the safety tip though. Do your homework if you decide to go in. Bring AT LEAST one buddy. Have an oh-#$*@ plan, because where you're going, there is a distinct possibility of such a thing coming in handy.

Yall aint gonna get cell/mobile reception down there... Id say least 1 guy with you and 1 guy topside, for cautions sake, ideally w some communication device thats not gonna be borked by depth Would be cool as chips to see though, just sTay safe dude, im yet to race you  |

I have recorded what I could and will compile the footage into a short video. I filmed it in clips so I'll have to stitch it together in an editing program. Any suggestions? Later I'll post it here in our video thread.
