Could not find anywhere appropriate to post this so have made my very own thread.
Roaming through the randoms last night I found myself in an "offroad" race with one other player. I decided to use my modded Sanchez and admit to thinking it would probably be a quick easy win on another rubbish track, particularly when I saw that my opponent had chosen some kind of flatbed trucky thing. Well, it wasn't long before I discovered the error in my presumptions. The "race" turned out to be more of an extreme trial through Raton Canyon, crossing the river frequently and with tricky climbs and falls up and down bits of the map I have only met by accident and then usually face first.
Only two minutes in and I am stuck trying to cross the river, his flatbed just manages it and I expect my rival to continue to an uncontested finish....but no, he waits while I spend the next several minutes finding a way across. Eventually and after many drownings and or faceplantings, I succeed and onwards we continue, both honking with happiness at my little victory. The course gets harder rather than easier with me having to do an unaccustomed amount of practical problem solving involving virtual death defying leaps and lots of time to complete but his patience never faltered until one particular river crossing proved impossible for my little bike. What to do. Quit after all that effort?. Then out of the blue and out of the lightweight random self serving scummy masses of the general GTA player base, he reverses his truck back over the river to a position where I can jump into the back of his flatbed and get a lift to the other side!. Over the next 50 minutes, yes, 50 minutes. We co-operated in this way with some bits easier for me than him but with me requiring many piggyback rides to safety, all the way to the peaky finish.
I can safely say the completion of this tortuous but well thought out trial and the unexpected friendly co-operation shown by my host throughout made this one of the best gaming experiences I have ever had.
Just thought I would share this wee moment.
