Google play has a ProBoards app for the Android for viewing forums like this one on my phablet. Anyone tried out this app? Worth the $3 ?

I noticed that too but the mobile version of the site is pretty slick so I dont really see much benefit in an additional app.
Like luap I wont pay for apps or programs if I can help it as theres usually a free/open source version of most things

Same for the Apple store. I contemplated. Maybe I'll get it Thursday but I like the way mobile is now. The only added benefit I could see to have the app is being notified when you have received a message, post reply, etc.

The current mobile does not show the shoutbox for me...I end up setting it to full version anyway.

I usually do not pay for apps unless there is no alternative for something I want to use. Like my Pipe Trades Pro Calculator app. But $3 is not a big deal if the ProBoards app if it offers more functionality than the mobile web version. That was my question; Does it offer something extra the mobile web version does not?

I'm not sure. The description for iOS doesn't meant ion the ability or added features against the mobile web version.
