I'm always curious to know what people do when they are not working or playing GTA:O.
Personally, Inwork on 1/24:1/25 scale models when I have down time at work or bored at home. The Nissan Silvia in my avatar is a car that I built.

I seem to have a lot of hobbies. I love working on computer in most aspects. I pretty much do everything you can on a computer except for program. I love building computers. I custom make them and have been for years. I have never bought a brand name PC. I have a home media system and do not pay for cable TV. My media system consists of a custom HTPC that houses about 4 TB of movies and TV shows running XBMC. My gaming PC is in another room and I normally keep it pretty updated. I create and edit computer graphics, video and audio. I use Paint Shop Pro and Gimp for graphics. Video is a toss up, it depends on the codecs I use, often times when doing YouTube videos I will use Sony Vegas. I use Sony Trax for creating and editing audio and music. I love customizing my car and have been part of a number of car clubs through the years. Currently driving a 2002 Ford Focus that has been customized to look European and have also upgraded the engine and taken it to the track on a number of occasions. I also dabble in BMX, both in riding and restoring. I still have and ride my 1986 Skyway Street Styler. Here is a pic of me on my New 2012 Skyway Cruiser 24". Self Pic

@grnd- My brother (Wicked_Misery) also builds computers. Been doing it for 15 years now.
@tolly- That's awesome man! My uncle is a big 4x4 off-road trail riding guy. Has 3 jeeps he uses for off-roading.

Cars, planes, tanks, ships, and rockets. I blew them all up tho. I would like to see some pics of your collection if you have some.

I'll scrounge some up later on today. My first 5-10 have been pretty bad. Still on the learning curve of things. But I'm getting there.

not sure you would call it a hobby but... Kids..... well i have one and the girlfriend has one too, can be hard to fit in hobbies alongside lol But we do like going camping, heading into the woods and jsut finding a spot to set up the canvas and start a fire, remember the first time me and my girlfriend went camping, we had lamb steaks (cooked on a hot rock) with potato & bacon gratis... you know, good old camping food If were free of the kids we do also do a spot of kayaking, hiking, general woodsy exploration. While were out an about ill often go foraging collect wild foods, berrys, fruits, leaves, seeds and the like, there's something really tasty about a meal you don't have to pay for. Then there's jam (or jelly for my USA crewbies), after a few years of experience ive gotten pretty adept at making that summer fruit last through winter with some jams and preserves... there's always more to learn Do enjoy cooking and baking with the kids when we get a chance. In summer we are usually pretty green-fingered as well, try to grow as much edibles as we can in the small gardens we have access to. Took a good few pounds of strawberry's last year and expect many more this year, as the plants send out some fresh runners. Also like to play music, have a drum kit, guitar, harmonica & ukelele, all of which i have a varying degree of proficiency. Love to play my acoustic guitar at night jsut before bedtime, working on some new little riffs and fingerplucking, the better half usually refers to them as my "lullaby's" as most of them are relaxed little numbers designed for winding down after a long day.... oh and i beatbox... one of my lesser known talents that ive worked on alone (you kinda have to to avoid embarrassment) for about 2 and 1/2 years... but on my girlfirend's birthday last week we had a Karaoke setup... I got my first chance to beatbox with a mic and pretty much stopped everyone in the room talking as not many people had any clue of my hidden talent (me included)... needless to say it lead to some funny duets with me and a friend having a mini beatbox battle in the front room, amongst 99 red balloons

I'm right into sport, specifically Football (Soccer) It's my passion to watch and play and when I'm not gaming I'm usually with mates or playing some form of sport. I don't really get up to that much else really with college all finished and me being unemployed. I like to browse the internet a lot if that counts too ;p

I have often thought of going back to build some models. I was pretty proficient when I was younger. Sometimes I would buy like three or four and mix the parts up and make some custom rat jobs. That is a damn nice door T0lly, I would love to be able to work with metal. Never had the opportunity. Mo-seph, nice to see someone still enjoys the outdoors. I don't get the chance to do that much around where I live. Wife isn't much of an outdoors person but I love to camp and go hiking and stuff. The forest's and woods around me in the states can not compare to the ones I used to go out in when I was in Germany. Not sure how the UK forests compare to the German ones.

dont think our forests really compare to some of the ones in southern germany tbh, would love to take a trip to the black forest but there are some pretty good woodlands and forests about, im lucky to live pretty close to some good semi rural areas that i can disappear in when i get the chance, usually 6 months a year im pretty outdoorsy, the other 6 im a bit of a hermit and work on my music when i get the chance T0lly that is some pretty awesome work, my brother-in-law builds stock cars on the side, he used to race mini-stox (which is a junior only league over here) but carried on building them to become one of the top race builders for mini-stox in the UK. He gets commissioned for a few cars each season and I used to love chilling in his garage while he was welding custom chassis' and building race engines (the only guy i know who can single handedly pick an engine block up and drop it in a car).

I like camping and such but fishing is my go to for outdoors. Nothing gets my heart going like hooking into a stout Large/ Smallmouth Bass.
I'm not too big on kit-bashing (combining different models) but scratch building is where I'm headed. I want a 3D printer so bad I can't see straight.

Nice setup Zero. I was part of one of the original PC modding forums. When we were doing things like UV lights in the fans and windows in the side panels we were cutting them ourselves with dremels and wiring the LED's in the fans by hand. I think you will like my stuff. One of them is called Encounters and looks like a spaceship.

Hobbies? What are those?! I have 2 boys, 4 and 2yrs old, and a wife. I think that's the sort of thing you're talking about isn't it, what fills your time outside of work and GTA? I do have a keen interest in music, mostly listening these days rather than playing but I've got a few guitars and will be passing down my 'skills' to the next gen... I'm a gardener by day so I get chance to listen to a lot whilst mowing, strimming, hedge cutting etc. My tastes have gone thru a massive evolution over the years and now encompass just about everything outside the mainstream, focusing mainly on the new, cutting edge of things as much as I can. I got to a point a number of years ago where my attention span kind of ceased to exist so for a while now I just move thru downloaded mix after mix, never keeping anything for that long and generally not bothering with albums or single artists. One thing lead to another and I started making my own mixes on a music editing programme, more or less categorised as abstract, downtempo, instrumental hip hop but trying to keep it varied and interesting to listen to, I'm a soundscape kind of guy. Boys have kept me busy tho and I haven't found a lot of time to pore over endless amounts of new stuff and compile it for a while. Got a link to the mixes if anyone has a taste for the sort of thing described... www.percussionlab.com/sets?list=tag&tag=cuzFootball (proper football, played with the feet!) is a... well, I was going to say passion but since I stopped playing myself, the professional, top level stuff has settled down to a mere interest. There's only so much of their shenanigans you can get worked up about when you've followed nearly 30 years of the stuff. We're an outdoorsie bunch ourselves, we live in the countryside of SE England, just one neighbour within a mile. I'm out getting wet and dirty at least 5 and half days a week which is my excuse for spending lots of time spamming forums and playing PlayStation when I'm indoors (and not wrestling with my boys or eating)..... (I'm actually wrestling with the 4yr old now, who's desperate to stop me finishing this post). Oh and art. I went to art college, have a reasonable level of competence on that side of things but now mainly just sketch cartoon farm animals, dinosaurs and tractors for you know who. Interesting to read what you all get up to btw. Good stuff.

Wow, you guys are really proficient at some really cool stuff!
I am 28, married (6.5 years) and have 2 boys (5.5 & 2.5).
I have been playing guitar since 2002. I started off really strong the first 2 years, but then only played off and on since then. I am a music enthusiast and try to listen to as many style of music as I can, but my preferences lay in classical, rock, and metal. I also play the tuba and baritone and sing. I have been attempting to learn proper beat boxing (also found it fascinating).
I used to build computers (2000 - 2009) , but have been out of touch for the past few years. I broke my code and bought a dell laptop (didn't trust myself to build a laptop) and have been using it ever since. I used to do all of my gaming on PC, but once I stopped building them I ended up switching over to Xbox.
I also dabble in graphic design, video authoring, sound editing, creative writing, and reviewing products/concerts/albums.
Other games I play or have played and really enjoyed - Left 4 Dead, Battlefield 1943, Assassin's Creed, Hitman, Thief, Madden/NCAA Football, NBA 2K14, Wii Sports.
I also love learning new software and programs. I would like to eventually learn programming. I love tinkering around in excel... I make spreadsheets for just about everything I do and always try to use new techniques each time (vlookup, pivot tables, countif, nested if, etc.).

Lol, sounds like me with excel but I have no desire to program. I wish I knew a keyboard, I would like to dabble in midi for recording.

Well how about that, seems like I really HAVE found my people! During the day I'm herding cats in my IT job. I'll spare you the gory details other than I tend to live on the software side of things, more towards project management as of late. At night I'm herding cats as part of the leadership team for the local Subaru club. On the weekend I'm herding cats helping organize (or competing in) TSD road rallies or volunteering to work timing controls/course marshal for performance stage rallies or the odd rallycross in my area (I'm sensing a theme...). Or I'm herding my kid which may as well be herding a gaggle of cats for how frenetic he gets. Then there's my actual cat, who invents fascinating new ways to annoy me on a daily basis. I could write a book on that last one alone. A lifetime ago I dabbled in music as well. My primary "trained" discipline was percussion, ranging from classical orchestra to jazz bands to dixieland combos to death metal to grunge to "military" snare solo competitions. Eventually I somehow found myself throwing down funky/hard house at warehouse parties behind the wheels of steel in the late 90's along with a foray into electronic music production. Not quite sure how that happened, but I've learned not to question such things and just go with it. Lately I've become a more serious student of racecraft both IRL and in games. Last weekend I found myself nerding out on suspension dynamics replaying the same corner over and over Forza for an hour trying to figure out exactly what compressed/pivoted/extended/shifted in order to influence my tire contact patch in a given way. I had my first real, formal performance driving instruction last year and I'm solidly hooked. It's embarrassing to realize how much more my car had to give if only I were a LITTLE less ham-fisted and A LOT more patient. It really is true the best, most effective mod you can make to your car is the good old fashioned driver mod... Now that I'm getting a taste for what's possible given a little knowledge, I'm borderline insatiable. It's humbling to realize just how much I have to learn, but that's half the fun.

We could all form the weirdest band...
Skorpio, don't hate me, Manchester United. My support pre-dates Ferguson, bit of credit to be had there... Definitely at it's lowest ebb right now but hey, I'm philosophical about it all.

I have been collecting Star Wars 3 3/4" action figures since 1996. I have over 800 figures. I love this hobby! Some collectors of action figures keep them on the cardbacks. Not me. I'll ruin the value as soon as i get home. I am building shelves for them. The shelves are going to be lit with LED rope lights on top and bottom. Gonna look super sweet when they are done. The best part of this hobby is finding expensive figures for cheap. I dont know how much you guys know about the action figure industry, but its very much like sports cards. There are common figures and rare ones. Look and see how much a figure like Galen Marik is selling for online. I'll save you some time, it's anywhere between $70 and $100. For a 3" piece of plastic?!? I absolutlely cannot pay that much money. So when i happen to find him for $20, thats a win for me. Im about 20 figures away from having my collection be complete.
I have a 2 year old, so thats my hobby right now. I play the guitar, but she wants to "play" it too, so i dont really get to sit with my guitar too much anymore. I bought her a kid guitar, but she wants "daddy's tar".
I also really enjoy working on my house. Dont know if thats a hobby or not. Im in the process of remodling my basement. Full gut job. Putting in a powder room, new closets, ceramic floor, recessed lighting, rewiring, ductwork, new ceiling. Wife and i just bought this house 2 years ago.

Heh, I wish I still had my Star Wars collections from when I was a kid. I had probably 90% of all the old stuff. To include the big things, like X-wing fighter, Falcon, Boba's ship... the list goes on. I also was a big G.I. Joe collector, I even had some stuff you couldn't get in the stores. You could get action figures from collecting and sending in the UPC's to get extra ones like the elusive Hooded Cobra Commander. Needless to say, life happens, mother's throw away kids toys through the years. Believe me, she knows the error her ways now, lol.

What a weird bunch we are, some shared interested though!
I'm 23. I live in Surrey. I have a girlfriend - we don't live together yet so I have 'some' freedom!
By day, I work as a Graphic Designer. I've moonlighted as a photographer and I'm regularly first assistant for some 'celebrity' photographers on shoots abroad, so I've travelled quite a bit over the last few years. I also work with a new clothing brand as their creative director, so we'll see where that takes me!
In my spare time, I'm just a regular lad. I love american sports, NHL NFL are my 2 favourites. Don't really do any english sports, apart from rugby. My girlfriends cousin is on the england squad, and a friend is a wasp former harlequin (don't quote me).
I've built my fair share of computers, now I'm a mac guy! But people still just call me for PC support! Started as a Playstation 1 gamer and have had every console since then, I did PC gaming for a few years but then switched to mac and kinda left pc games behind.
Trying to get into video editing and production. Also trying to learn web codeā¦ It's a long road, but I'm getting there!
I do volunteer work in my spare, spare time and me and my girlfriend love movies, so if I am online on PS3 and not playing a game you know I'm watching movies!!
