Bahaha! Tbh, I'd fallen asleep. Woken up a bit disappointed to see it's still droning on. 1st half was a good contest but it's been properly dull since then. Taking Campbell off and bringing the invisible man on was a bad move.

BOOOOO!
Honorable move from Costa Rica though. Better to let the Dutch go thru than beat everyone and disappoint so many Brazilians.

BOOOOO! Honorable move from Costa Rica though. Better to let the Dutch go thru than beat everyone and disappoint so many Brazilians. So very true. 8) Odd strategy from Costa Rica's side though. It seemed like they had the penalties on their mind from the second half onward. Winning that way against Greece might have given them too much confidence in that area. And they also didn't expect Krul to be brought in as goalkeeper in the last minute, lol. That move was absolute genius on Van Gaal's part. Too many opportunities were not taken advantage of from the Dutch side though. Especially from Van Persie. They really can't let that happen with Argentina.

Argentina looked very solid. If your boys play the same way against them then the chances of me staying awake past the 1st half are virtually zero.

I know about Robbens diving from his chelsea days under Mourinho but if Van Gaal's tactics are to run and dive like this Holland team are doing he's in for a shock in the Premier League. The media hammer any team or player when they're diving and cheating in England.
Contrary to what other countries media are trying to push, the English media aren't biased in what they've been saying about FIFA. If FIFA were UK based our media would have destroyed the whole corrupt organisation with nothing but facts by now.
Edit: I'm only talking about Sport reporters lol The mainstream media is corrupt as Russia

Holy shit, the poor Swiss. That was harsh. Argentina seemed dull and lifeless, not enough movement, even Messi hasn't been looking for the ball. Lucking their way thru this cup. Was that the game where Gary Lineker said Di Maria lost possession like 50 times by the end? lol Thought the Holland Costa Rica game was very exciting towards the end. I'd love to watch Robben walking down the street. Just to see how often he falls over Here's a time saving tip I've been doing for a few games: Don't watch the first half since nothing happens in it anyway

At least you have failure to look forward to every 2 years. We can't even qualify to fail.

Well I did want Germany to show Brazil what a decent team looks like but this is actually a little painful to watch now....
Hope that Utd are still interested in signing Kroos. He's a quality player. Proper playmaker.

Cohesion has always been their problem but they used to just have the best players in the world. Now they've got 1 CB and a showpony. I can see them scraping thru the group but one of the European teams will shred them before they get anywhere near the final. Just took them a bit longer than I thought to face that European team...

Here's the thing. The Germans aren't impenetrable, Holland and Argentina are much, much, much better in defence than this and very dangerous on the counter attack.
I still think the Argentines have a good chance of winning this cup, they're sooooo defensive that they're gonna be very difficult to break down, then Messi will just produce something and boom, 1 nil win. I can definitely see them sucking the life out of both the Euro teams, drawing them out and sucker punching them.
German win would be a victory for FOOTBALL!
Dutch win would be a victory for Robben and only Dutch people want to see that... surely....
Argentine win I will miss because I'll fall asleep.

You forget Di Maria's injury... dutch's defense isnt very good tbh; on the opposite, argentinas got a better experience in that unit.
As i said like 3 weeks ago, germany is gonna win this competition because its the strongest and most complete team of the world cup.

Argentina still have Lavezzi and Aguero to come in tho, they wont miss Di Maria that much. Germans certainly do have the most rounded team, they should win it of course, but I wouldn't go too far in backing them. Last night was the 1st time we really saw what they can do and I think me n my mates might've had a chance of winning that game. They played great stuff but they do commit fwd and they don't really have the legs in the centre of midfield to deal with quick counter attacks, which is where Messi might come in. Of course, Holland may beat Argentina tonight, in which case Germany will definitely win

Last night was mad, i've never seen people freak out that much over a football game, it was literally out of control, and i'm from the suburbs, even on my way to work in the morning there still were people on the streets with fireworks and whatnot. As much as i don't care or know about football, i'll totes watch that final game, a match with Holland would be perfect because we always had special relations, not only in football. That's one way of putting it! Lmao But seriously, a German-Dutch final would be amazing. 8)

Sigh. Oh well. Van Gaal made a ridiculous first switch so he couldn't bring in Krul near the end. Van Persie shouldn't have played in his state. And then Vlaar took the first penalty lmao. He's a back, why would he get anywhere near a penalty? Would've been wiser to go with Blind. Aaaanyway, we lost. Match was a bit boring, Argentina was a bit better. Can only hope Germany will serve us justice lol. Btw am I the only one who finds the match for 3rd place really weird? I can't imagine either of those teams feel like playing anymore.

I've never understood the third place game in any sport. Olympic boxing gets it right, they award two bronze medals; each semi-final loser is awarded third place.
Edit: Of course FIFA wants the game because $$$

So, football fans, its nearly over.
HT pondering. Who would be your clubs dream signing based on WC performances? For Manchester United and me- Kroos. As close to Scholes as we'll ever get. Just taller. And less of a vicious wee bugger, you can't everything.
Clearly Deejay would be happy with anyone....
Nobody say Messi....
