Well done Australia, officially better than Spain for a few days.
Boo, the cruel Dutchmen. Using their superior skill and technique to undermine the brave Antipodeans. Cowards!

Been a quality World Cup so far, anyone remember the Vuvu-fucking-zellas?
That Australia v Holland game is a perfect example why i would always pick Germany to win the WC over Holland no matter how good they're playing.
Although it was a good game and i hope it keeps up it's typical of Holland to beat the champions and best team for the last 10 years 5-1 and then have a 3-2 game like that with the worst ranked team in the tournament lol

Well that was close :\ Australia did much better than anyone here anticipated. Holland's first half was ridiculous. But fortunately with 6 points in two matches their participation in the next round is fairly certain. I'd like to see more of the Australia we saw tonight but with two consecutive losses that door is pretty much closed shut. Do or die for Spain tonight. If Chile manages to beat them it's all over for Spain (and Australia as well). Wonder how it will play out.

Of course I'm not serious swifty, those things were ducking annoying Lol i thought you had to be joking, they ruined every game. The World Cup supposedly gets countrys and different cultures together for a big showpiece competition, in SA every game sounded the same with the constant BLAAAAAA from the vuvuzellas. That WC is the only time i've listened to the radio commentary while watching the game on the TV, you could still hear them lol just weren't as loud.

lol that was the one time i appreciated the mute button on my TV, it was just so bad, other than the Opening Ceremony this year, I haven't noticed any showings of Brazilian culture in the stands.

Watch Rooney get slaughtered in the papers as usual while Gerrard gets none when it was obvious he wanted no part of the game in the 2nd half When England were pressing forward he constantly made sure there was a Uruguay player between himself and the ball so nobody would pass to him and when Uruguay were pressing he went missing. All 2nd half he avoided the ball, he never chased the game he just wanted the ball to go past him. Anyone who disagrees all i say is watch the game again and keep an eye on Gerrard. If you still disagree you're obviously a Liverpool fan lol

Liverpool fan here Swifty. Gerrard looks very tired and disillusioned after his heartbreak at the end of the season. He was poor positionally vs Italy and very poor vs Uruguay. Nice assist for Suarez's winner though.

Useless bunch of fucking wankers.....
Clearly couldn't handle the pressure and wilted like the delicate flowers they are. Didn't even start playing against a Uruguayan team that was there for the taking. Seriously, how many chances did they have? Hey guyz, just wait, England will hand it to us, mwah ha haa. Let's get them with route one, they're big on irony....
Swifty my man. How many years have I been searching for another person that recognizes Steven glory ball Gerrard as England's weak link..... Marking? What is that? Hold on, I've just spotted a 60yd pass that may or may not pay off.... Ah, headed back at us. Oh well, what was that? Oh, that guy dropping in the hole? Nah mate... He's Rooney's.... Don't worry, in weeks time I'll score from 30yds...
Wankers.
Still, I don't go out much, had some booze and a real good laugh. Now I can enjoy the rest of the football without the threat of lemons. Win/win.

Oh.... and Glen Johnson.....
One day England will have a midfield, our full backs will be capable of running the line AND defending. I miss that.

I think England did pretty good, with the obvious exception of Rooney. To me they seemed on par with Italy for most of the game. I think they should be able to beat both Uruguay and Costa Rica if they don't fuck up their defense again, like they did with Balotelli's header. The guy was wide open, they should know how dangerous he can be. They should never have left him out of their sight. They're done if they let the same thing happen with Suarez.England maintains their fascinating strategy of leaving the opposing team's best forward wide open. It's a bold move at least. I wonder how it will pay off for them. They must have put some serious thought into it.

They must have put some serious thought into it. 'Captain fantastic' set both goals up for him, i think that's all he done all game. He only touched the ball when it came at him too fast to run away from and he got rid of it within two touches 90% of the time. A few times he didn't even look where he was kicking it he just turned and hoofed it away lol. "SUPER STEVIE G" my arse! Everyone expects Rooney to do the job by himself and if he doesn't it's his fault. If we had another 2 or 3 players with Rooneys work rate and talent we wouldn't have lost to Italy never mind Uruguay.
