Just had to put this up. It's what a F1 engine manufacturer would call an "electrical problem". Yes, half the crankshaft, several pistons and other previously associated parts just vapourised them.

2018 still way too soon for that execrable pussy pandering pile o' poo to kill open cockpit racing for ever in my book. I propose the date of "never while I'm still drawing breath or while my bumhole still faces south you limp wristed, interfering twats". Go knit or something................"significantly enhance the safety of the drivers" my arse. So would staying home on Sunday grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
A sensible (therefore unusual) move regarding teh radio though. Joe public likes it. Obviously there will be some artful censorship going on. Pity, Seb practicing his dockyard English at Verstappen's expense or Kimi telling people to stfu would be hilariful for e.g.

Huge congrats to Cal Crutchlow for his win in the MotoGP at Brno today. First Brit to win in the premier class since the late great Barry Sheene in 1981's Swedish GP.

I'm going to drop this here. Always one of the most fun racing weekends of the year. I've been watching the Friday activities all day at work

I can only remember two instances of pilots having the feels and smarts to suss out wet track grip on the fly like that. Ayrton Senna at Donington in '93 and Valentino Rossi likewise at Donington in '05.
There was a large and hearty Lol from me to hear Seb o so predictably crying into his radio when he was summarily "directed" off track by the Max.
I don't believe the likes of Max come along too often in F1. He's a bit good ain't he?.

My favorite part of the Seb whine is that he ran Max off in the previous turn, lol.

Tend to think the same Darkskill . The writing is on the wall. Especially if 2017 aero regs favour Redbull as much as peeps seem to think they might. We'll see. Merc are no slouches themselves aero or any other wise and no-one should be thinking they have only got to where they have by engine grunt alone methinks. Also, Lew lew ran yet another perfect, fuss and error free race (easy, in his words, if not as newsworthy as some) to yet another win in Brazil. He's still a bit good too. Should be an interesting 2017 one way or another.

Little bit of history on Sunday, Jimmie Johnson turned "right" enough to win his record tying 7th NASCAR driver's championship bringing him level with the greats Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt. and here's the part he turned right, clinching him the championship:

Ohh the BBC have always had their tongue permanently attached to Lewis' rectum but I get it though, home grown talent, 3 time world champ, one of the (if not the) fastest on the grid...etc
Well done to Nico though that last race really put him to test and he pulled it out the bag. A little new found respect for Nico though everyone and even Nico himself knows Lewis is the faster driver yet he never gave up, kept it calm and delivered. I just wish he didn't have the personality of a carrot.
Regardless I think there's only one chap making me look forward to the 2017 season, let's see what "Crazy Max" can do!

Dirty tactics???. Obviously none of these pussies were around for Senna vs Prost or Schumacher vs anyone championship battles. Feel Ayrton or Michael would have tried something a bit more rad than merely backing you up a bit.
As for Merc management getting their panties in a twist and giving him a hurry up call because they thought there was a chance the TEAM might have actually lost just one race just for a change while he was losing a championship!!!!. Grrrrrrr!!! Thought Lew was remarkably restrained in his response to that radio call myself. What he said wasn't quite what I said when I heard it.

Have a cookie for that post dubs, echoed my feelings on bbc and rosberg perfectly. Before the race was weird, I think it was on thursday I watched the whole FIA press conference where they had just Nico and Lewis and it suddenly hit me, this really depressing realisation that these two guys were standing on the edge of a massive moment in both their lives with so much at stake and so much pressure on them and they were both once two young mates who probably joked with each other about fighting for F1 world championships and now its really happening apart from its not funny any more, its very very real and very scary, just like growing up and life in general is just very fucking real and very scary. Dunno, maybe its a personal thing because it struck a bit of a nerve but as I said I found it quite sad, whoever won on Sunday, some 8 year old out there was having his dream crushed. Odd. Senna and Prost was a lot less complicated, they didnt know each other, they were from different sides of the world, totally different drivers and totally different people to boot, however they almost coincidentally were very equally paced in an F1 car, they were almost natural enemies. Long post but yer, agree with what dubs said about bbc and rosberg and agree with Trak that lewis wasnt out of line and yep I think id have reacted a lot more than he did to when the team got involved, with the constructors champ in the bag and the drivers going to one of them whatever happened I dont see the need. But then I agree with Lewis about not needing to swap the mechanics about. I think the reality really may be that mercedes saw that lewis was potentially about to start a season and get his 3rd title in a row, a crushing blow to rosberg, and thought the best interest of the team was to give Nico as much help as they could so he could win a drivers champ (the team dont care about them lets be honest) and that would keep BOTH mercedes as fast as possible for 2016 and 2017 with Lewis now gonna have the bit between his teeth to beat Rosberg and Rosberg on the high of 'knowing he can finally beat lewis' as he pretty much said as much in the post race press conference in abu dabz? What did I say about long post? ... oh yer.

The only time I got nervous (I was rooting for Nico) was when Max was around him. Max is a great driver, but also a loose cannon willing to take some big risks.
For my money I think Nico should have pushed the issue on Lewis. If he would have got within DRS range he could have forced Lewis to pick up the pace.
Also, what the hell was Red Bull thinking with Ricciardo? If they had put him on the same strategy as Max he probably would have won the race.

F1 explodes, wannabees all over the world are waving their hands in the air shouting me! me! me!. Others are looking at their contracts and how to get out of them, like right now. The scrabble is on. Lol. I think Ocon or Wehrlein (Mercedes test drivers) will get the job myself. Cheap and less hassle than a "name" driver would be.
I can't be sad about it. Nico is retiring right at the very top, mission accomplished. He has a new wife and daughter that he can now spend time with without having to endure yet another season of the same old, same old pressures. A smart move in every way I think. The only way is down, or sideways at best, from where he is right now.
My hat is suitably doffed in his general direction.

I think Ocon is locked into Force India for 2017. Wehrlin is currently without a ride, he might go from the outside to the ultimate inside, lol.
As a fan I'm sad, but I get it from Nico's side. Having kids changes one's perspective, why risk yourself if you feel you have nothing left to prove. He doesn't need more money, if I could afford to retire right now and spend more time with my family I would do it.

also slipping under the radar a bit thanks to Nicos announcement, Germany dropped from 2017 calendar and Brazil looking likely to follow it, oh with France making a comeback (not at magny cours).
Interesting time for F1, feels a bit make or break.

Gobsmacked he's quit. What respect I had for him has gone now. I think what Lewis did to him in the last race has had a huge impact on him but I wish he'd come back next season and give Lewis another run for his money. Kinda feels like he's let Lewis win.
