Ive been thinking of ways to improve my game when it comes to racing... methinx im pretty proficient on the track but there's always room for improvement.. So im setting myself a little challenge and thought id share it here to see if anyone else is interested in trying it too. In a nutshell im trying to improve all my track times to try and get within the top 1000 times in the world. Not gonna be easy for many of the more popular tracks, particularly those with obviously glitched times (e.g Crim Recs). But many RRR members already have top 1000 times on some of the lesser raced ones. So if anyones up for it post a screenshot of the global leaderboard showing your positions, a little like this: Remember guys this is just a bit of fun and a little personal challenge for me to try and improve my performance... your welcome to try it too and ill be interested to see how many RRR racers already have top 1000 times or better.... Bearing in mind theres between 240k (sea Change) and 8.1 million (Criminal Records) plays of each rockstar track, so a top 1000 time is in the range of the best 0.4% (Sea Change) - 0.1% (Criminal Records) in the world.... So lets see how many RRR racers are within the fastest 0.5% in the world

I got my "hold a world record" award while driving a compact on Criminal Records for 5 laps. I assure ou I am not mistaken...it actually pops up on the end screen when it thumps and shows time and cash and rp and rankup. I either do not know how those boards work or don't trust them at all.

I either do not know how those boards work or don't trust them at all. i dont know specifically ghow the social club boards work, as in game they change depending on the number of laps, race type etc... If you set the SC boards to "Global" it lists based on lap times... then the overall time to the right depends on your number of laps but the world record achievement may also go from number of laps and overall time and race type (i.e standard, rally or GTA)... i have a sneaky suspicion not many people do 5 laps of Crim Records being that its was the 1 lap grinders paradise. I got my world record acheivement on downtown downtown (plane race) originally in the very early days Although while your here luap your #12 position on Vinewood Nights is possibly the highest RRR ranked position of any track... id say that deserves a mention on this thread...

I am not sure what my first world record was as it was very early in the game. The second one I got was on Senora Highway. I forget the specifics of it, I just remember seeing it pop up.
Edit* Some accomplishments I am proud of. I hold position 746 on Grass Route with a Bifta. Cutting Coroners set to 4 laps, I hold position number 162 with an Exemplar. The only other times that are close that are showing up on Global is Motorcycles and Super cars and I did my time in a Coupe. Double Parking I am holding 973. Vinewood Nights 976 Just Deserts is 545. I am proud of my position on Grand Tour even if it is 2790 as I did in a Vacca and I think that is the fastest Vacca time on that track. It is up there with a bunch of motorcycles and Adders/Entity's.

Somebody see if you can find my time on cutting corroners...im pretty sure i had a world record on that one too at one point. Lap time was .95 or .97 something like that. I cant access here.
Nevermind, i got a hold of it. im guessing that regardless of the leaderboard the world record thing takes vehicle type and number of laps into account. Even though i know i got that record it says im over 1700 on the list.

You are in position 1797 with a 57.236 with an Adder I am in position 2819 with a 57.857 with an Elegy I dont know what position Surly is but he has me beat with a 57.292 with an Entity. Kind of shows how good an Elegy does.

The Elegy is really good for tracks where you can't really utilize the higher speed of the Entity/Adder/Cheetah as much, because there are a lot of turns and you have to break a lot. Such as Cutting Coroners and Through the Grapevine. I actually think it's even a bit easier to get a good time with the Elegy because you aren't going at such breakneck speeds every time there's a corner which means that judging how much you have to break and slow down is easier. Driving a fully modded Entity on Cutting Coroners has a bit of a stop-start feeling to it.
I think it's a bit of a pity that bikes and cars aren't separated on the leaderboards, since bikes are just so much faster and take the top times on every track. Would be a lot of fun to be able to compare times with cars without having to sift through rows and rows of bikes.

If they would fix the leaderboards, they should break it down to each class as far as I am concerned. It can't be that hard with how big of a database R* has.

I'm not even close. My best time is 4000th or so on Graveyard Shift. Actually the best car time in RRR PS3, only Tolly and Skoader have bettered it on their bikes. I'm sure it used to be a top 1000 time tho, I swear it was in the 700s at one point. It was a little while ago when I set it. Funnily enough the 2nd best RRR car time (5th ovr) was set by my brother Gills in the same race. I won, heh heh heh.
Would be great to know the standings per class. I'm sure I'd have a good chance of placing high were I to go out and do Grand Tour in a compact...

I can pull top 1000 or better on any track I want to, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm truly that much faster. It just means I'm that much faster than other people who bothered nailing it down on two wheels. I suspect it would be a different story if classes got broken out.

I havent bothered to look at most of the leaderboards...not even sure i would bother unless as surly pointed out you do each one on an Akuma or bati...maybe even adda friend for slip and turn on gta...its totally not fair to lump everything together.
Just took a look... 195 Art to Art 476 Morning Perma Wood 57 Bluffing 12 Vinewood Nights
That's all I got under 1000
Looks like I need to do some Akuma runs.

Great improvment! Lol @ total time
How good are you at Dipping In? It's pretty easy on a bike and has a long section for slipstreaming

Woo hoo! In 4 laps I cut off 1.971 seconds and went from 1583 to 686 I’m sure I could cut another 0.7 and crack the top 500, but I found myself raging pretty hard doing the time trial. Nothing infuriates me more than my own mistakes, lol. Every time I would clip a light pole or or cut a corner and miss a check point I would start swearing like mad. And I only ran the 6 laps that you see here! I actually apologized to my wife when I was done. A lot of you still have me out classed, but I'm pretty damn proud of this.

Actually found a couple of tracks where I've done a decent time.... Not sure how clear the images are. Some cracking times posted in this thread, good stuff. I do wonder how many times are genuine. There's some ridiculous stuff on some leaderboards.

Still the fasted Car on Break out the Brakes over 2 laps which is surprising considering I lost time on my final lap. Overall Its 796, wish there was a way to filter vehicle class, soooo many bikes.

The Coil The overall leader board is still messed up so I can only see my standing for 2 laps, but I'm sure my 1:52 holds up pretty well.

Ugh... This is one of the many moments where having a mac sucks balls, even taking screenshots/saving/uploading is a pain in the ass... But yea, got the #109 time on Arms Race, GTA mode with The Liberator ;-) 00:29:985 on fastest lap, 12:24:89 total time and 10 laps Figure it out whoever wants to ;-)

The global board is finally working and my single lap time definitely holds up.

So I tried that Coil track for the first time tonight. Did 5 laps with my Zen and then 3 laps with the Akuma. For some reason after a coupe hours it sitll hasn't registered me as ever having raced the track but I got a 1:45.3 lap.
