Right click on the title bar of the command window and go to properties. In the options click on "quick edit". Click OK and go back to the window. Highlight what you want and right click once. It is now in the the buffer, hit ctrl-v to paste it into the forum.

Yeah, your times are very erratic. My vote is on Comcast being crap or you have packet loss somewhere.

Look at the "ms" on your 3rd hop, you are not even out your house at that point.

Like you point out that third step is still in the house right? I got PC to Router to Modem then out to ft caroline Comcast which is right down the street.
so is it saying it takes 169ms to go from router to modem? still don't know why 3 numbers.

Looking for a moment I think that 3rd hop is your cable modem going to your gateway. Your modem would using that "private" IP (10..) and gateway is using a business IP. Sooo, I am going back to thinking it might be your modem.

I'm reinstalling both disks.
I won't be able to do anything about it tomorrow but maybe Thu I will see if they will replace my modem.
I'm going to look at setting up the second xbox for a test tonight and tomorrow also. Will it cause any problems if I switch back and forth signing in on my profile between two xboxs as long as it isn't both at the same time?

Well, I completely uninstalled the whole kit and caboodle. Reinstalled everything: disks 1 and 2, patches, updates, dlc's and even blimp. Forgot all about that thing lol. I got some stars and even went on a tirade with a tank...no error drops to dashboard yet. The 2 players in question for connection issues were no longer on so couldn't test that.
Off to bed. Night.

Have you called Comcast to check your modem yet? They can do that over the phone. I will reply in a bit with Nat settings, but they are not going to be a fix for the problems you are experiencing.

what do you mean by "check my modem" . I called them yesterday and they did something and upped my mb/s to 50 where it was supposed to be...but that didn't fix the trace.

Something I found...
• The most important rule for troubleshooting latency • If there is an actual issue, the latency will continue or increase for all future hops afterwards. • Example (Not a real issue in hop 2): 1 ae3.cr2.iad1.us.nlayer.net 0.275 ms 0.264 ms 0.137 ms 2 xe-1-2-0.cr1.ord1.us.nlayer.net 18.271 ms 68.257 ms 18.001 ms 3 tge2-1.ar1.slc1.us.nlayer.net 53.373 ms 53.213 ms 53.227 • Latency spikes in the middle of a traceroute mean absolutely nothing if they do not continue forward. • At worst it could be the result of an asymmetric path. • But it is probably an artificial rate-limit or prioritization issue. • By definition, if the regularly forwarded packets are being affected you should see the issue persist on all future hops.

OK so this may seem about as relevant as a new hair cut on the quarterback improving a football teams performance but I went into my social club account today and the linked Xbox account had a "reauthorize" button on it. I went in intent on unlinking so I ignored the button and proceeded to unlink the account. Then I immediately relinked the account. All was fine and there was no longer a reauthorize button.
Then I looked at the crew overall RP board just because I was there and I don't know if it was fixed before or after I relinked but suddenly ReeFaa's RP amount showing in the crew had seemingly corrected itself. I don't know if the two were connected.
Mow a few hours later I get home and I immediately called Comcast so they could start their "we will call you back" timer and then went to do a few traceroutes to get some numbers to talk to them about. Lo and behold like taking a vehicle to the mechanic and it suddenly not making the "noise" anymore...

Now I think it is not very likely that the linking of social club had anything to do with this but seriously ...coincidence?
