A lot of the missions in GTAO have a pathetic pay out and normally last way too long to really get any use out of them. I prefer the missions to just a simple deathmatch but I need more of a payout than freaking 5000. The team vs. team missions are even worse, the losers get like 200 dollars out of it! What a waste of time!

20mins "Coveted" with a friend.
100-120k Payout total, excluding some ammo / armor.

The missions are a nice way to break it up. I wind up playing them alone cause my crew all left for other games.

I enjoy some of the missions. Some of the Martin and Lester missions can be quite a challenge. I have yet to complete them all successfully.

It's hard to keep track of what missions you've already done. Find myself doing a mission for half hour or whatever and complete it only to get half the payout because I've already done it.

If you create a 2nd character and do the missions you will get big payout because it sees it as the first time played. If you are getting bored doing the mission, try changing to Free Aim mode. I have yet to complete a survival in free aim.

Free Aim is the only way to play T0lly !! Why let the computer assist your aim, you wouldn't let it assist your driving would you LOL at the idea of auto-steering !! Happy to run any job with you in free aim

I used to play Free-Aim from the start, including story and it actually put somewhat of a challenge because fights weren't over in a few seconds. But on online I just switched to Assisted as most of the time the game sets it to that for you and other people use it and so you're at a distinct unfair advantage. Plus the fact you have to exit to singeplayer to change it is also annoying. Now that there is a bonus for having it though I might put it on again.
In terms of missions, I find that some of them are worthless. But I usually just play them with friends and some of them are actually very challenging and really enjoyable and require some strategy and numerous attempts (High Priority Case anyone...? Without a strategy you get hit hard in that one the first few tries.) But yeah most missions aren't worth the time and effort if you want rewards but more so just for the fun and if you want to do them.

I will be the first to admit that I have not done many missions. To be honest, except for the first couple missions in the game when it first came out and 1 or 2 other missions that I did with some crew mates from another crew before I joined RRR I have not done any. I can't stand missions where it is just a team deathmatch mission. I want some objective, not just mindlessly kill another team for no reason. I wouldn't mind trying some missions out though now since most of the bugs have been worked out.
On the whole aiming thing, I don't see this game as a shooter, I leave that to the other actual shooter games. With GTA, I see it like this. I am suppose to be some bad ass criminal who is suppose to be good with crime, guns and getting away. I would rather have the auto-aim or assisted aiming in this aspect as it is suppose to be second nature to my character. I do not like free-aim in the console world. I can hold my own in COD style games but I am no where near as good as I am on the PC. I will play FPS games on the PC and normally always come out in the top 3. I have been playing them since 1996 and I consider myself somewhat of a professional when it comes to that. With a console, I just want to sit back and relax.
If they are a waste of time for you, just don't do them.

I really like doing the co-op missions with a few mates (some of them aren't so fun....) but payout is a big thing for me. I still need to be earning coins to progress with my car plans so if I've just earned 2k for 20min, I'm bummed out by it even if I enjoyed the mission. I ignore anything from Simeon, Lamar or Gerald, they're all miserable rewards and often just easy to pass anyway, still get plenty of job offers from them as I've not bothered with them since very early on. Lester, Ron/Trevor and Martin offer some good missions for worthwhile coins but if I've already completed it I may pass it over. I'm happy with 10k or more but 20k is obviously nice to get after a good one. Did one of Martins the other day and got 3k, that felt like a waste of time but then I'd joined a mate and the one we did before it gave us 2k... Haven't touched a DM or LTS in ages. Joined DDZN for a capture last night and got 1 or 2k for winning, pretty sure it was 1. Didn't take long and it was fun to pile in with a bunch of people but the reward just wasn't in line with what you have to put in. Should be some consistency to them that relates directly to time and effort.

I play every mode and always for fun (never the $'s !!) agree with new modes payouts are poor compared to use of ammo, but even after a night of playing new modes only I was up about $10k, sometimes it pays to play smart and preserve ammo, but sometimes I need to whip out the RPG and kill all those auto shotty using motherfuckers !!! lol

Does anyone remember games pre "acievements" "trophies" "xp" and "cash"
You know the ones we played just for fun and to fill some time
I only say because altho its part of the game and necessary for certain things (unlockables, buying ammo etc) ive always raced for my main income, no ammo costs.. I usually get floored in DM as im not much of a shooter, but I play survivals for fun, alonside some of the missions despite alot of them being very samey. I just do them for entertainment not acheivement
I tend to make my own challenges to spice things up a bit and have in every gta game.. Currently ive challengd myself to and suceeded in:
Backflip on a motorbike with a pillion passenger Backflip 360 on a motorbike Backflip & Backflip 360 on a bmx Gettin my bifta on top of the cable car at the top of mount chilliad Gettin my akuma on franklins roof Backflippin an atv
Last night we spent about an hour puttin 2 bmxs in a picador, then stealing a cargobob, pickin up the picador and bmxs, puttin them both on top of maize bank tower, then I jumped the bmx back I to the picador, ste drove it off the bank, then I bunnyhopped put midair and landed a triple Backflip (before dying)... No cash, no rp but a heellll of alot of fun
Guess its all just perspective and opinion,,, I "wasted" alot of time last night not earnin rp and cash.. But I enjoyed myself

Well said Mo, a lot of people have focused on $'s over fun for this GTA, R*'s fault but that's why I don't feel remorse for raping them doing the LSC glitch !!

I ageee that its always the developer that shifts the focus to cash and rp as the core element of the game... But ive paid R* my money, the games mine so I play it how I want, not how they tell me to

I do agree with that, despite echoing the 'not enough reward' sentiments. That's the greatest thing about GTA and always has been, there's so much scope for just mucking about. I probably spend 1/3 of my time not earning a coin and loving it, even if I'm just hanging out with people. If I really wanted to crank up my balance and get the Stinger, my next goal, then I could just go grinding. F**k that tho, I want to enjoy it, not bore myself silly and lose the whole point. It's just that sometimes you'll go thru a job and come out with a reward that makes you go huh? Does put me off doing certain things if I can go do something else for 10x as much and still have fun. It's not a major complaint for me but if they had a bit more consistency to the payouts I don't think I'd have any complaints at all. I'd probably vary my experience even more, obviously a good thing, as it is I don't really feel the need, there's just so much to do already.
I do go thru phases on it. I expect I'll get to a point where I've bought everything I'm interested in buying and then start banging on the DMs.... Or darts.

I am a 100% kind of a player. I have a goal to complete everything. I do not alway's accomplish it, either time restraints or is just too hard for me to get it. I will try every mission, mini game, and whatever else I can find. This is one reason I like GTA it has so much to do Now some missions I do not have much fun on, and will typically not go back to it. I do not necessarily pick missions by payout. Of course I play the ones I like a lot, like racing :DI like working with a team on the martin and Lester missions. I be happy to run some missions with folks if I am not busy on one, send an invite.

There's a good aspect to the co-ops right there. If I'm launching them with colleagues only, no randoms, payout really doesn't matter so much. One of the coolest things in the game is bossing a mission with style and in good company. Although making a complete pigs ear of it can be quite amusing as well.....

The key to enjoying the missions is to not care about the payout screen and to do them with people you know. A well communicated mission is always fun even if you fail it.
