Red Rum Racing Recruitment Video [PS3] I'm calling all Red Rum Members
Any and all members willing to help out in this video are welcome.
The aim of this video is to
-introduce perspective members to our community
-show them the variety of activities we participate in
-the variety of vehicles and tracks we race in and with
-and the strength and bond of our community
IDEAS: JakeLomax:Love the idea of a promo vid. A really great video should sum up who we are, what we do and what we stand for in a very short space of time. Having looked at the apex vid, I think there are some cool elements there, though I also think it's too long. Here are my thoughts for a vid (keep in mind this was cobbled together during a coffee break . - Opening - Liberator line up (Entire crew appearing from behind a hill to a rolling stop) with fireworks - "This is what we do" All crew supers/sports passing through the observatory tunnel at night, one by one, capturing the awesome engine roar (Turismo R anyone?) - "A clean race is the only race" or some other cheesy line - feed into crash shot where members wait for each other or other gentlemanly behaviour - "Success is about more than first place, it's about finding the perfect line" - race shots, lots of em. - "Dirty drivers never prosper" - quick outtake following a careless crash shot to two members with muskets dueling to the death in some cool location (top of Maze bank anyone?). - Celebration lineup - following one of our weekend events? - Wrap up - "You want in? - prove it..." RefusoIdea: 2 cars parked on the side of the road with 1 car space in between them. Camera man is on the pavement. Someone comes and skids perfectly into the spot in a car with the RRR logo on the door so that the door is facing the camera man Something like this: {see video section at bottom of thread} I liked those first person views on the other vids in the shoutbox. Were they normal speed or sped up? I never drive in first person so don't know Needs: Member with a capture card/PVR or some device to record PS3 video.
Videos:
APEX recruitent video. Ref's parking idea video MORE TO COME EDIT LOG: 2014-07-15 -- Revamped thread, aesthetics mainly, added Ideas section, added Videos section, added Jake's and Ref's ideas and video to respective sections.

Jake have you ever thought of a career in script writing/movie directing? Your ideas are great, love the part with he Liberator, was thinking we gotta film atleast that before R* removes fireworks. I was thinking of it to be shorter too, 4 mins is really long in terms of filming. I would say 2- 2:30 max? Looking back at the video, it seems kindve rough around the edges. Cars glitching, damaged cars, start menus, countdowns and impromptu race prompts. Looks like they filmed it all in one day. We can take our time, film each scene differently. Make it work more smooth, especially with the titles you suggest Jake. Ref, that would be awesome, great way to end the video, can anyone pull that off tho? First Person looked like normal speed, tho with a video editing software, we would able to slow it down and speed it up.

I have been collecting video of events and races that I was going to splice up and make like a demo vid. But now you guys have me wondering if it would be bad quality to use unplaned game footage. I was thinking showing examples of real gameplay was better than a scripted scene. Am I going the wrong way?

Depends on the footage L, i cant make a decision withoit seeing it, i went the scripted route mainly because its easier to plan and organize the video rather than it being a compilation of GTA racing, some kind of order would be good Post the vids luap then we'll be able to see forsure

Hey Speed, I was even thinking a circa 45 second video would work. If you could get the perfect handbrake park like Ref's suggesting i'd say the video could even be under 10 seconds . My vote would be for a comet as the powerslide car between either two Panto's or two Liberator's for extra effect. Alternatively, if we just wanted to use some great racing shots, we could have different cars in different environments feeding seamlessly into one another. Ways of doing this could be to shoot one car driving into a tunnel with a different car driving out of a different tunnel, or switching to first person in one car before switching out to third person in another. As a crew we've had some epic races with some of the best racers i've come across - this would be a great place to show this off.

45sec seems short but we'll play around. Theres no maximum or minimum, were free of any regulations.
Omg that would be awesome, a perfect little video, all we see is the handbrake park and a screen showing You want in? Prove It!

The Dominators rear is really slidey, however it may be uncontrollable compared to the comet, however its gonna be the drivers choice on what car s/he prefers. We have several tunnels we could use, located all around the map. Alternate those with some wrecks and car meets and we have ourselves a recruitment video.
