refuso I read your comment saying that you used to not be able to keep up with others, but I remembered when I first race with you, you smoked everyone by a big margin lol. Sounds like we were on a track I made lol Pffft when have my checkpoints ever steered you wrong? Apart from those 2 races last night. And on mountains.... Ok don't let me set the checkpoints

The new ghosting mode is really lame for actual racing, but it may be great for a driving school! With it you'll be able to follow the exact line as an instructor, without causing any sort of damage or chaos.

Yeah, I should've read this thread before coming up with the idea myself and posting it elsewhere. Luap, delete Coach's post, it makes me look stupid.

I do like this idea and I'm on the same track as Coach here. Lots of laps on tracks we want to learn in maybe a GTA race or this new 'ghosting' mode. I say GTA Race because like previously mentioned in here you can exit your vehicle and I for one know that I'd like to get different views of how different people handle a corner. For example if you wanted a birds eye view you could scramble to a rooftop overlooking a bend and REALLY see how they handle it. The 2 main things that I seem to have trouble with the most while racing are different elevations and the checkpoint limits which is why I'd like to really nail certain tracks with lots of laps. You know the old saying, 'practice make.......for slight improvements'. Having saying this I still like the driving school idea, even if it's used for trying out a car, seeing how much you can push it to the limits and yourself. Track idea could be almost like an oval with a naturally fast straight so you'd get to feel how you can handle coming out of a bend into a fast straight on the one side, get to grips with your car at speed down the straight then how to handle braking while coming up to the turn around. Then on the other straight there could be a series of technical turns, chicanes etc? Just throwing ideas out there because I haven't even jumped into the creator and don't really intend to. Not enough patience lol.

Hello All, I created a race with this topic in mind, It's designed for Clean overtaking and slipstream partnering practice, feel free to play and leave feedback, not quite what the original topic had in mind but it's a start !! rsg.ms/RI1m32

its been said before but i think it would be better if we used existing tracks with a high number of laps in rally fashion so the "student" could ride along with the instructor and no one would suffer the loss penalty. we could walk through lines slowly and talk out the nuances of each track and the student can ask questions, etc. but i really like this idea and would definitely sign up haha this is the way I'd go. Knowing the ideal line is only part of what makes someone fast. Knowing the line doesn't help if you don't know WHY that's the line or what you need to do to nail it reliably. Visual cues, weight transfer goals, overall strategy and "gotchas" can't be conveyed just by following someone. You really need them to talk you through what they're thinking to get the most out of it.

All this sounds good. Thank you very much for sharing this idea. We just shifted to Australia and need Australian Driver license. Now going to join a well-known Port Macquarie Driving School for driver training and want to pass the test in first attempt.
